'What shall we do?' said Twoflower. 'Panic?' said Rincewind hopefully. He always held that panic was the best means of survival. As it moves towards a seemingly inevitable collision with a malevolent red star, the Discworld could do with a hero. What it doesn’t need is a singularly inept and cowardly wizard, still recovering from the trauma of falling off the edge of the world, or a well-meaning tourist and his luggage which has a mind (and legs) of its own. Which is a shame because that's all there is...

His teacher tries to hold her class’s interest, but she can’t keep her mind off what Adrian George told her earlier. Returning to the story begun in the novel Immortal Coil and continuing in the bestselling Cold Equations trilogy, this is the next fascinating chapter in the artificial life of one of Star Trek’s most enduring characters. He was perhaps the ultimate human achievement: a sentient artificial life-form—self-aware, self-determining, possessing a mind and body far surpassing that of his makers, and imbued with the potential to evolve beyond the scope of his programming. And then Data was destroyed. Four years later, Data’s creator, Noonien Soong, sacrificed his life and resurrected his android son, who in turn revived the positronic brain of his own artificial daughter, Lal. Having resigned his commission, the former Starfleet officer now works to make his way on an alien world, while also coming to grips with the very human notion of wanting versus having a child. But complicating Data’s new life is an unexpected nemesis from years ago on the U.S.S. Enterprise—the holographic master criminal Professor James Moriarty. Long believed to be imprisoned in a memory solid, Moriarty has created a siphon into the "real" world as a being of light and thought. Moriarity wants the solid form that he was once told he could never have, and seeks to manipulate Data into finding another android body for him to permanently inhabit...even if it means evicting the current owner, and even if that is Data himself. ™, ®, & © 2013 CBS Studios, Inc. Abigail Gray is a dance instructor whose life tragically ends at the age of thirty-four. She is welcomed to the other side—in a room of pure white—by her guardian angel, a brown book with gold accents, a movie screen, and a remote control. With no recollection of her death, the reel commences as Abbey and her guardian angel, Michael, focus on her last year on Earth. In this year, we follow a journey of newfound love with a man named Jason, as well as a magical friendship with the spiritual intuitive who owns the town’s apothecary shop. Acting as a mentor, this prestidigitator helps Abbey decipher the dreams that have been haunting her sleep since the day she bought the ‘must have’ picture of a dancing couple, an item she found at the local antique shop. He also teaches her the importance of living her life’s truth. As the reel of Abbey’s life plays out, she and Michael embark on this visual journey together, while Michael carves a wooden sculpture and offers her heavenly wisdom about life’s fragility, opportunity, and purpose. “Inspirational ... a perfect blend of spiritual and earthly wisdom woven through a poignant love story.” ~Christine Duminiak, certified grief recovery specialist, author of Heaven Talks to Children “As we follow Abbey’s journey, we cannot help but pause for thought about our own personal beliefs and question the purpose of our own lives. The words of the author display a deep understanding of spiritual philosophy.” ~Alison Baughman, numerologist, author of Get His Number! “In a story playfully sprinkled with fascinating trivia and spiritual wonder, Tracy Glassey explores the power of all the connections and influences we don’t even realize are there, and in the process conveys a great deal of wisdom and practical life lessons.” ~Ralph Marston, Greatday.com

In her first book, Entering the Light Fantastic - Discovering Life After Life Through Orbs, Nancy J. Myers shared the extraordinary story of how losing her only son just a month before his 28th birthday transformed her life in the most unexpected ways. Her grief drove her to search for answers to the unanswerable. Nancy was stunned when three mediums told her that while Robbie may have passed over, his relationship and communication with his mother would continue. Robbie and Nancy had work to do together-their mission: to provide evidence that life continues even after the body dies.Guided by Robbie and the orbs, Nancy embarked on a personal spiritual journey that brought to light her own psychic gifts and abilities and set her on a path to becoming a sought-after professional Orb Medium. Over the past ten years, she has captured thousands of orbs in photographs taken in various locations, including sacred sites around the world, at demonstrations, and even in people's homes. In Encircled by the Light Fantastic, Nancy recounts her latest adventures and spiritual discoveries. From her unexpected and often highly synchronous psychic experiences in Egypt, France, Bosnia, Scotland, and Malta to her exciting discoveries about the magic that exists in the seen and unseen worlds around us, she awakens us to the knowledge that we are all enchanted on some level and reminds us that Magic has always been there. And we all have the power to tap into it.

Imagine a flat world, sitting on the backs of four elephants, who hurtle through space balanced on a giant turtle. The Discworld is a place (and a time) parallel to our own - but also very different. That is the setting for Terry Pratchett's phenomenally successful Discworld series, which now celebrates its 25th anniversary. The Discworld Graphic Novels presents the very first two volumes of this much-loved series in graphic novel form. First published fifteen years ago, these fully illustrated versions are now issued for the first time in hardback. Introduced here are the bizarre misadventures of Twoflower, the Discworld's first ever tourist, and possibly - portentously - its last, and his guide Rincewind, the spectacularly inept wizard. Not to mention the Luggage, which has a mind of its own.

This guidance is designed to help those intending to use airborne laser scanning (ALS), also known as lidar, for archaeological survey. The aim is to help archaeologists, researchers and those who manage the historic environment to decide first, whether using lidar data will actually be beneficial in terms of their research aims, and second, how the data can be used effectively. The guidance will be most useful to those who have access to data that have already been commissioned, or are planning to commission lidar for a specific purpose. They also provide an introduction to data interpretation in order to separate archaeological and non-archaeological features. Although important themes are introduced, this guidance are not intended as a definitive explanation of the technique or the complexities of acquiring and processing the raw data, particularly as this is a still developing technology. This document is intended to complement 3D Laser Scanning for Heritage, which covers a wider range of uses of laser scanning for heritage purposes (Historic England 2018). This Guidance is a revision of The Light Fantastic: Using Airborne Lidar in Archaeological Surveypublished by English Heritage in 2010. The text has largely been maintained except for certain areas where major changes have occurred in the ensuing years. This is particularly true with regard to increased access to data and the wide range of visualisation techniques now available. The case studies have also been updated to reflect more recent survey activity and to include examples from outside Historic England.
