Forever in pursuit of happiness, while having the unpleasant feeling of never catching up with it, is part of the sensation of ill-being with which many of us today are familiar. The action of the Thought-Forms we carry around with us constantly aggravates this state of being and everything which happens to us in our lives. Unknown to most of us, Thought-Forms affect our health, shape our happiness and, of course, our unhappiness. They can suffocate us or drive us forward, but becoming aware of and understanding them is vital on our road to liberation. By perceiving and knowing them, we can consciously build up Thought-Forms that help us and transform those which hold us back. The first volume deals with how we can understand and recognize our Thought-Forms in order to begin this process of “transmutation”.

What do ideas look like? This clairvoyant view of the shape, color, and atmospheric effect of mental energy includes black-and-white drawings and color plates to convey a graphic representation of the power of thought. Prominent Theosophists Annie Besant and C. W. Leadbeater were pioneers in asserting that thoughts are, indeed, things. Originally released in 1901, Thought-Forms is a seminal work on what thoughts “look” like. It had an impact far beyond the circle of its primary readers and greatly influenced leading artists such as Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky. Simple in style and clearly written, Thought Forms is a classic of the Theosophical tradition that has as much to say in our own day as it did a century ago. It lucidly sets forth a way to conceive of the invisible realms within and around us, with implications both for how we view the world and how we act in it. Discussion includes the meaning of color, thought forms built by music, and the nature of helpful thoughts. Based on the authors’ clairvoyant vision, its illustrations suggest the form thoughts take in relation, for instance, to anger, fear, intellect, sympathy, devotion, and a meditative state. Annie Besant herself describes the book’s purpose as being to “serve as a striking moral lesson to every reader, making him realize the nature and power of his thoughts, acting as a stimulus to the noble and a curb to the base. With this belief and hope we send it on its way.”

As knowledge increases, the attitude of science towards the things of the invisible world is undergoing considerable modification. Its attention is no longer directed solely to the earth with all its variety of objects, or to the physical worlds around it; but it finds itself compelled to glance further afield, and to construct hypotheses as to the nature of the matter and force which lie in the regions beyond the ken of its instruments. Ether is now comfortably settled in the scientific kingdom, becoming almost more than a hypothesis. Mesmerism, under its new name of hypnotism, is no longer an outcast. Reichenbach's experiments are still looked at askance, but are not wholly condemned. Röntgen's rays have rearranged some of the older ideas of matter, while radium has revolutionised them, and is leading science beyond the borderland of ether into the astral world. The boundaries between animate and inanimate matter are broken down. Magnets are found to be possessed of almost uncanny powers, transferring certain forms of disease in a way not yet satisfactorily explained. Telepathy, clairvoyance, movement without contact, though not yet admitted to the scientific table, are approaching the Cinderella-stage.

In recent times, the subject of consciousness has emerged as an important paradigm of scientific investigation and research despite most of its concerns having roots in philosophy, religion and occultism. What is consciousness? What is the substance of consciousness? Is it material or immaterial, mortal or immortal? How is it connected with a body? Has it a particular seat in any particular body as the brain does? Is consciousness synonymous with mind? Is it eternal and non-local? These questions have interested thinkers for many centuries. It is the object of this book to demonstrate, through a series of cases reported across the world at various times relating to many curious mind-related phenomena like the creation of mental entities, the imprints of indelible images on the human body, stigmata, birthmarks and bodily deformities corresponding to the injuries sustained in the previous life, thought-photography, materialization experiments etc., that: · Human mind can bring into being thought-forms and can exteriorize them, giving them some objective consistency. · There can be continuity of thoughts even after the destruction of the physical brain. · These psychic entities are sometimes given a kind of autonomy so that they may act and seemingly think without the consent or even knowledge of their creator. The book does not stop with the mere reproduction of recorded cases and just messaging the dimension of the problem, but extends over to solve it by suggesting a bio-holographic theory of body and mind. The book is alike novel, fun-filled, profound and useful, thus affording the blend of interest and instruction which cannot fail to render it interesting to the inquisitive and candid mind.

As knowledge increases, the attitude of science towards the things of the invisible world is undergoing considerable modification. Its attention is no longer directed solely to the earth with all its variety of objects, or to the physical worldsF[ around it; but it finds itself compelled to glance further afield, and to construct hypotheses as to the nature of the matter and force which lie in the regions beyond the ken of its instruments. The fact is that science has pressed its researches so far, has used such rare ingenuity in its questionings of nature, has shown such tireless patience in its investigations, that it is receiving the reward of those who seek, and forces and beings of the next higher plane of nature are beginning to show themselves on the outer edge of the physical field. "Nature makes no leaps," and as the physicist nears the confines of his kingdom he finds himself bewildered by touches and gleams from another realm which interpenetrates his own. He finds himself compelled to speculate on invisible presences, if only to find a rational explanation for undoubted physical phenomena, and insensibly he slips over the boundary, and is, although he does not yet realise it, contacting the astral plane. One of the most interesting of the highroads from the physical to the astral is that of the study of thought. The Western scientist, commencing in the anatomy and physiology of the brain, endeavours to make these the basis for "a sound psychology." He passes then into the region of dreams, illusions, hallucinations; and as soon as he endeavours to elaborate an experimental science which shall classify and arrange these, he inevitably plunges into the astral plane. Dr Baraduc of Paris has nearly crossed the barrier, and is well on the way towards photographing astro-mental images, to obtaining pictures of what from the materialistic standpoint would be the results of vibrations in the grey matter of the brain. It has long been known to those who have given attention to the question that impressions were produced by the reflection of the ultra-violet rays from objects not visible by the rays of the ordinary spectrum. Clairvoyants were occasionally justified by the appearance on sensitive photographic plates of figures seen and described by them as present with the sitter, though invisible to physical sight. It is not possible for an unbiassed judgment to reject in toto the evidence of such occurrences proffered by men of integrity on the strength of their own experiments, oftentimes repeated. And now we have investigators who turn their attention to the obtaining of images of subtle forms, inventing methods specially designed with the view of reproducing them.

In this, one of the rare colour editions of 'Thought-Forms', Annie Besant and Charles W. Leadbeater describe how the human aura changes constantly in size, form and colour, depending an individual's mental and emotional state. The book features the original fifty-eight full colour illustrations that give the reader a direct experience of a psychic's impressions of the aura, what Besant herself called "the living light of other worlds." For Besant and Leadbeater, thoughts were as real and powerful as words or deeds, their hope being that the vibrant images would allow everyone to "realise the nature and power of his thoughts, acting as a stimulus to the noble, a curb on the base." Born in London on 1st October 1847, Annie Besant was described as a 'Diamond Soul', a complex mix of spiritual seeker and social reformer, advocating progressive ideas on such topics as education, trade unions, birth control, female suffrage and Irish and Indian self- rule. Besant eventually settled in the sub-Continent, embraced Theosophy, and wrote widely on the religious movement's views on karma, reincarnation and the purpose of human existence. She was herself blessed with spiritual gifts, one of which - the ability to view an individual's aura or psychic energy field - forms the basis of this present work. Charles W. Leadbeater was ordained as an Anglican priest but gradually felt drawn towards gnosticism and theosophy. He met Annie Besant in 1894, a few years after she became president of the Theosophical Society, and collaborated with her in exploring such shared interests as the human aura, aspects of the soul and occult chemistry."

Psychogons are of central importance for parapsychology, religions, magic and mysticism. Most people are unaware of the connections between the different versions of assumptions among themselves, due to the inconsistency in language use in the religious and esoteric scene – which is especially noticeable in the area of research of psychogons. The word " psychogon" as a term for the underlying phenomenon is only known to few. Instead, terms for very specific observations and practices are used frequently. The fact that all these different cases represent one and the same phenomenon in different variations and views is no longer recognized. This leads to a fragmentation of researches, impedes the establishment of fundamental theories and results in unnecessary quarrels. This e-book outlines the different terms and approaches, in an attempt to show the similarities and the basical mechanisms.

A Novel of Supernatural Horror From The Visionary Author of Punktown and Letters From Hades. Thought Forms follows the alternating stories of two cousins stalked by mysterious enemies bent on their destruction. Ray is a lonely young worker in a leather goods factory, whose parents were murdered by unknown assailants when he was just a child. Now, years later, having moved into the same remote house in which the murders occurred, Ray becomes increasingly harassed by enigmatic robed figures who may be connected to that long ago night of carnage. Meanwhile, Ray's cousin Paul goes to his job in the plastics company where he works nights, unaware that soon he and a small crew of coworkers will become trapped inside and hunted by an inhuman entity against which they must desperately battle if they hope to survive until morning. Building tension with the deliberate stealth of a big cat, by the time its bloody climax approaches "Thought Forms" will have gripped the reader's throat in crushing jaws. Once again we're reminded why F. Paul Wilson says, "Jeffrey Thomas' imagination is as twisted as it is relentless."
